Welcome to the Marketpath Introduction to Website Development course. In this course you will setup a practice site in Marketpath CMS and can expect to learn basic HTML and CSS coding, the foundational elements that makeup a website.

The course is broken down into the following modules:

  1. Gettings Started - (this module) provides instructions for setting up an environment to practice the skills from each lesson.

The following modules are incomplete and not yet availabe. In the meantime, we recommend visiting w3schools.com HTML Tutorial and CSS Tutorial

  1. HTML Basics - provides the basic HTML syntax you need to create a great website.
  2. CSS Basics - provides basic CSS techniques for styling your content.
  3. CSS Layout & Positioning - provides CSS techniques for laying out your content.
  4. CSS Flexbox - provides an overview of using CSS Flexbox for laying out content.
  5. Responsive Development - provides techniques to make your website adapt to mobile, tablet, and desktop device views.
  6. Liquid Template Language - provides a basic introduction to using Liquid syntax to connect content in Marketpath CMS.

We recommend you follow these lessons in order because each lesson builds upon other lessons. Once you've completed the course you can reference each lesson individually as needed.

The vast majority of content in this course can be applied to any website on any platform, particularly the HTML and CSS lessons. Lessons for Liquid Template Language can be used on platforms like Shopify, used for building e-commerce websites. And finally, lessons for Marketpath CMS are strictly related to using Marketpath's content management platform, one of the fastest and easiest ways to build and maintain a website.

We hope you enjoy learning how to build a website. If you have questions or recommendations, please reach out to us in the Marketpath support portal. Best of luck!
