Marketpath CMS can refuse requests from a maintained list of known-bad user agents. Blocked requests receive a generic 403 response and do not count as pageviews.
This is not a complete bot filter. Agents can be spoofed, and legitimate search crawlers are not the target. Use it to cut obvious junk traffic, not as your only security control.
New sites have blocking on by default. Existing sites that predate the feature were left off so the change would not surprise live traffic.
The blocked-agent list is unpublished and changes over time (hundreds of entries). You do not edit that list. If a tool you rely on is blocked, add it under Whitelisted User Agents.
