URL monitors periodically request a live page from outside Marketpath CMS and email you if the page looks unhealthy. They can detect DNS or SSL problems, slow or unresponsive pages, server downtime, HTTP errors, and Liquid errors on the page.
URL monitors are available on paid plans. How many monitors you can add and how often they can run depends on your plan. See Marketpath pricing for current limits.
When a paid site is activated, Marketpath CMS automatically creates a home-page monitor if the site does not already have one.
You can also edit every monitor on the site at once. Use that when you need to disable monitors during maintenance, change who receives alerts, or reduce how often checks run.
URL checks count as normal pageviews. That usually has little impact, but it matters if you are close to a pageview limit.
Each monitor has a healthy interval and an unhealthy interval. A check every 4 hours is about 183 pageviews per month. A check every 15 minutes is about 1,825 pageviews per month. If you lengthen the healthy interval to save pageviews, consider the unhealthy interval separately so you still hear about recovery promptly.
URL monitors use the textlist field type for lists of text values (for example, email addresses). You can also add textlist fields to templates and custom site settings. Textlist supports the usual item-count conditions and validators, such as minimum and maximum items.
