Backing up your entire site and exporting it to an external file is an easy and straightforward task.
First, navigate to Site -> Exports.
Click New to create a new export job.
Give the export job the title "Full Site Export" or another descriptive title. Leave format as Json or change to CSV. The Json form will store all text and html content in a single Json file using the name of your export. The CSV format will export content into the a separate file for each entity type (i.e. one for Articles, one for Blog Posts, etc). If the Expires checkbox is selected, the export job will automatically expire and be deleted at the specified date and time. If you want to retain the export job for future use, unselect the checkbox.
Next select All. All object types will be automatically selected.
In the Advanced section, select all checkboxes except Replace Guids with Names and set the Status Filter to Untrashed. If you plan to export this backup to a new, blank Marketpath CMS site then select Replace Guids with Names.
Click Save and close the dialog.
You will see your export job listed. To run it, simply click the Run icon.
You will see the progress dialog below.
When the export has completed, you will see a new download button appear. Click this button to download your exported site.
Congratulations, you have exported your entire site! You can re-run this export as often as you'd like to download an up-to-date copy of your website.
Your export will be downloaded to your usual download folder. Open that folder and unzip/uncompress the file into its own folder.
If you selected the Json format the uncompressed folder will look like the following.
If you selected the CSV format the uncompressed folder will look like the folder below.
You can now restore this backup to your site at any time by creating a new import job and restoring it to an entirely new Marketpath CMS site.
